My name is Kevin Adam Flores Barbosa, and I am a Hispanic American poet, short-story writer, and occasional filmmaker.
I was born on October 5th, 1992 in Brownsville, Texas. I’ve been writing ever since I was a kid but did not realize I wanted to turn that hobby into a career until high school where I wrote a majority of song lyrics, kept a dream journal, and read some influential books. In college, I began taking my writing more seriously as a writer and made a breakthrough in poetry while taking Creative Writing I. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English, I want to achieve excellence as an individual among my works and publications to show how meaningful words created from experience, emotion, and imagination can relate to many people and make an impact as any other artist aspires to. I also hope to collaborate with other poets among the writing community while receiving possible recognition for establishing both poetry and storytelling as a cathartic immersion and therapeutic outlet for those who struggle mentally and emotionally.
As I continue to pursue this career, I’m still an introverted visionary who spends my time outside of work hanging out with family and friends, writing, and playing with my dogs. I am just an emotional and bittersweet author who prefers fantasy over reality, waiting to be abducted by aliens. I reside down in the Rio Grande Valley within the Lone Star State.
